More ALT pandamania/Mere ALT pandamani

What is black, white and uber-cute? The pandas at Singapore River Safari. They are called Kai Kai and Jia Jia. They live in a 1,500 m specially designed biodome. With temperatures of between 18C - 22C the exhibit lets you cool off and enjoy the cuteness. Her is a link to more pandamania and some more pictures from the River Safari.

Hvad er sort, hvid og uber nuttet? Pandaerne i Singapore River Safari. De hedder Kai Kai og Jia Jia. Deres anlæg er på 1,500 m og er dækket af en specielt designet kupel. ALT experience does River Safari - crocodilles/ ALT experience indtager River Safari - krokodiller

The River Safari's exhibits on the great rivers of the world include crocodilles. To our great satisfaction they have the indian gharial. Here is the gharial from the Ganges river and the Yangtze river crocodille.

River Safaris udstillinger over verdens floder indkluderer krokodiller. Til vores store tilfredshed har de den indiske gavial. Her er gavialen fra Gangesfloden og  en krodille fra Yangtze floden.

ALT experience in Singapore - the River Safari - Pandas/ ALT experience på River Safari - Pandaer

We love pandas, so we had to see them at the River Safari. It was hot and muggy this morning and the panda enclosure was lovely and cool. As it is a week day we had a great viewing experience. Calling all panda lovers check out these pictures

Vi elsker pandaer, og vi skulle se dem på River Safari. Det var varmt og meget fugtigt i morges men panda anlægget var dejlig køligt. Da det er en hverdag fik vi en fremragende oplevelse. Et kald til alle, der elsker pandaer - Tjek lige disse billeder

A quick update - We arrived right on time in Singapore. The whole trip was just smooth sailing. Efter checking in at the Shangri-La, we went to the River Safari, which was fabulous! Details and pictures coming up. We saw the giant Pandas!
En hurtig opdatering - vi ankom til tid i Singapore. Hele turen gik super glat. Efter vores check in på Shangri-La, tog vi til River Safari, som var kanon godt! Flere detalje samt billeder kommer snart. Vi så Pandaer!

Foiled by flu/Fanget af feber

Our best laid plans were foiled by the flu. The whole ALT experience team was down with the flu last week, which resulted in a frantic scramble to rebook flights and hotels. One week later- we are looking good to go!
The Maine Coons have been sent to their holiday apartment. The rabbit hutch is now extended with an outdoor run. The aquarium is stable as the fish and snails are doing a great job keeping the algae levels controlled.
So let the coutdown begin. ETA Singapore, Friday 11/4 at 06:25.

Vores fine planer blev taget til fange af influenza og feber. Hele ALT holdet blev i sidste uge angrebet af influenza, hvilket resulteret i en hvirvel vind af ændring, både af hotel og flyvebilleter. Nu en uge senere er vi på rette vej!
Begge Maine Coons er nu på luksus kattepension. Kaninburet er udvidet med en udendors løbegård. Akvariet er stabil, da fiskene og sneglene holder algerne ned.

The Antony Lionardo Thomassen experience - Exploring the rainforest in Danmark

This summer ALT experience visited Randers Regnskov for the third time and the verdict is that we are coming back next year.

First some facts about the rainforest displays. The rainforests of Asia, Africa and South America are displayed in 3 separate domes. The African dispay covers an area of 500 m2, the Asian display covers an area of 700 m2 og the largest dome - the South American display covers an area of 2000 m2. The domes are formed of a lattice of steel supports and about 3000 polycarbonat triangles.

Enough facts and on to the fun stuff. We scurried across a treetop bridge, watched the coatis ransack a hut, fed the manatees, tracked armadillos, touched snakes, spied on the aardvarks and tasted crickets and meal worms. We ended our visit at the newly opened farm theme area and enjoyed the pastoral joys of sheep and pigs.
